The Reason4TheSeasonContest began years ago, as discussion among a group of atheists on the West Coast of the US, who were interested in creating a way for atheists to share in the positive, humanist aspects of the Christmas season.  Finally, in 2007, some money was pooled together to form the first $500 prize money and the contest was launched.  The contest will be run each year, with new song lyrics created, entered and adopted, and the song list growing each year.  Ultimately, we hope to launch publication efforts to spread the positive atheist/humanist versions into the collective pool of holiday music around the world.

 

If you believe in this vision, and wish to help further the effort, the Reason4TheSeasonContest organizers are always looking for contributions to a contest endowment.  With a contest endowment, each year the interest from the endowment will fund prizes and allow for enhanced outreach and publication efforts.  In this way, your contribution gives not just once, but each year in perpetuity.  And you become a partner in another active effort to further the cause of reason and happiness in the world.
